About Donum Dei Classical Academy

Donum Dei Classical Academy, a Gift of God, opened in August 2019 in San Francisco, California. Our mission is to impart a rich classical Christian curriculum full of Scriptural truth and life-giving experiences. How this role fits into Donum Dei as an organization: 

Donum Dei is looking to launch a preschool to serve the families in our current community and beyond. The Preschool Director would oversee the opening of the preschool and its ongoing operations, curriculum, and teaching. This person would have responsibility for the program as a whole, working with other members of the Donum Dei administrative team for key functions such as enrollment and finance. This position is an opportunity for an experienced Preschool Director to shape a Christian education ministry for some of the youngest children in our city. 

Launch the Preschool: (EST August 2024)

  • Establishes curriculum, rhythms, policies, and procedures for the preschool
  • Interfaces with parents of preschool children to orient them to the school
  • Remains flexible to adjust approach as needs arise
  • Assists with and, as needed, leads recruiting efforts for children into the school

Christian Leader:

  • Incorporates a healthy Christian culture in line with Donum Dei's Statement of Faith
  • Oversees staff, as applicable
  • Manages the daily operations of the preschool:
    • Recruits and manages volunteers as necessary
    • Sets and ensures achievement of educational goals
    • Collaborates with other Donum Dei staff to ensure the success of the preschool, such as the Principal, enrollment, and finance

Preschool Teacher:

  • Exemplifies a love for learning and a passion to cultivate that love in your students
  • Instills virtue and character as you build relationships with students and families
  • Takes pride in edifying the body by fully exercising your role of teacher and your gift of teaching
  • Teaches integrated subjects passionately and excellently
  • Brings to life God’s words through practical applications
  • Creates a safe and nurturing learning environment for children
  • Communicates regularly and effectively with parents

Job Duties

  • Train new staff members
  • Provide professional development opportunities for staff
  • Establish policies and communicate them to staff and parents
  • Develop educational programs and standards
  • Maintain instructional excellence
  • Assist staff in communicating with parents and children
  • Meet with parents and staff to discuss students’ progress
  • Prepare budgets and allocate program funds
  • Ensure that facilities are maintained and cleaned according to state regulations

Qualifications:

  • All of the requirements within one of the following options must be met:
    • Option 1
      • 12 core semester units in early childhood education/development
      • 3 semester units in Administration or Staff Relations
      • 4 years teaching experience in a supervised group Child Care Center
    • Option 2
      • A degree in child development
      • 3 semester units in Administration
      • 2 years teaching experience
    • Option 3
      • BA degree in child development
      • 3 semester units in Administration
      • 1 year teaching experience
    • Option 4
      • Child Development Site Supervisor Permit OR
      • Program Director Permit
  • A leader with evidence of innovative and creative problem-solving skills, ability to grow internal and external friendships and partnerships, and those who desire to equip minds and form souls in a post-Christian culture
  • Agree with Donum Dei’s Statement of Faith
  • Serve as a minister of the Gospel

Employment Type

  • This is a full time, exempt teaching and administrative role
  • Compensation is annual salaried pay and tuition credit to the preschool and/or TK-8 school if applicable ranging from $60-$70 annually
  • Full Benefits and 401k

Mon-Thurs 7:30am - 4pm

Friday 7:30am-1:30pm
